Associates are selected to represent Spaulding Associates, Inc. for three reasons:

Bill
Spaulding
President, Spaulding Associates, Inc.
Bill has twenty years of experience helping executives from all over the world communicate more effectively in person, in writing, interpersonally and in teams. He founded Spaulding Associates, Inc. (SAI) in 1991 to promote "Business Development Through Leadership and Communications Training". Bill has exceptionally wide ranging experience and expertise in training and organizational development, multi-rater assessment, and consulting. He has worked extensively with trainees who have English as a second language.
Bill has designed and delivered training programs for all types of employees, consulted with senior management, and conducted interventions for major corporations, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the United States and in Europe. When working with a group, Bill's naturally enthusiastic style and
sense of humor create an environment that fosters both participation and enjoyment. In
individual consultation, he has developed results-oriented strategies and techniques with
corporate vice presidents, sales managers, business unit directors, and front-line

Bill's undergraduate degree is from the University of North Carolina and he holds an
M.B.A. from the University of Maine. He is a certified administrator for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator MBTI).
For recreation, Bill enjoys woodworking, SCUBA diving and serving as a Board member for YMCA camp in North Carolina.
Howard is a senior human resources and institutional development specialist with over 25 years international project management experience. In addition to his work domestically, he brings his experiences with international clients in China and the Pacific to Spaulding Associates, Inc.
Mr. Schuman has led and participated in projects in over 20 countries, is well-published and has received the "Training Practitioner of the Year" award from the American Society of Training and Development. His areas of expertise include development of human resources policies and programs for emerging markets, privatization, infrastructure development projects, presentation skills and training of trainers.
Among Howard’s most recent projects are:
Indonesia, Capital Markets Supervisory Agency (BAPEPAM)/ Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu/Asian Development Ban - Head team for management review of human resources structure and functions and devise business strategies to enhance overall performance. Design, deliver and recommend staff training in supervision, compliance and enforcement of regulations governing operations of stock exchanges, broker/dealers, clearinghouses, custodians, investment funds and transfer agents
Sri Lanka, DFCC Bank Strategic & Operating Plan Project/ PricewaterhouseCoopers, 1998-99 - Led human resources component of strategic management study and operational plan for this large development and commercial bank. Outlined strategic plan to assist the bank develop internationally competitive policies and procedures, with focus on recruitment, training, compensation, succession planning, and performance appraisal.
Philippines, Coordinating Committee for Philippines Assistance Program/BOT Center, Department of Finance/Price Waterhouse/USAID, 1994-97 - Conducted training needs assessment for infrastructure privatization training and developed national training plan. Managed design and delivery of Advanced Project Development and Evaluation training on infrastructure development for government officials and private sector participants. Trained over 500 participants in infrastructure project related subjects including project finance, BOO/BOT, project management, negotiating concession agreements, capital markets and institution strengthening. Headed training materials development teams.
Dennis
Steele
Training Consultant
Dennis Steele has worked as a training and development professional for more than 13 years. He has developed and applied his expertise as an internal and external consultant in both publicly-held and privately-held companies of various sizes.

Six years as internal training consultant and Training Manager at a premier global direct-mail marketer (internal consultation, training design and delivery as well as management of outside training vendors, project work in business redesign)
Three and a half years at professional services firms (partnerships) with global training & development responsibilities (notably consulting skills)
On the personal side, Dennis enjoys traveling. He speaks three languages: English, French and Pohnpeian. (The latter is from his Peace Corps days on an island in Micronesia.) He also participates in regular music activities (baritone), and plays volleyball on occasion.
Laura
San Roman
Training Consultant
Laura has thirteen years of training, consulting and sales experience in a variety of industries and positions. As a Training Consultant, she has worked effectively at a variety of levels within client organizations from support staff through upper management. Her dynamic training style has resulted in consistently high ratings from participants across the Fortune 500 spectrum.
Before working with Spaulding Associates, Inc. Laura worked as an internal management consultant and sales trainer for MCI Telecommunications. During this time, she helped design and develop curriculum, created training materials and conducted training for field sales staff in product knowledge, sales techniques and communication skills. Prior to her experience with MCI, Laura worked in sales and business services for ITT - United States Transmission Systems.
Laura brings a variety of communication skills to Spaulding Associates, Incorporated. Her areas of training and consulting expertise include:

Jeff
Dorman
Training Consultant
Jeff Dorman specializes in organizational development, leadership skills development and executive coaching. He leads over 100 workshops a year offering seminars on such topics as change management, leadership development, team building, customer service, presentation skills, interpersonal styles, conflict resolution, facilitating meetings, and coaching. Jeff spent over 15 years in marketing and sales management. During that time he hired, managed, trained, encouraged and developed individuals in the organization. This work led Jeff to further his studies in organizational development and interpersonal communications skills.
Jeff has worked with a variety of Fortune 500 companies, family businesses, and educational institutions. He has been a keynote speaker at major conferences for groups such as the Food Marketing Institute and the Personal Enterprise Council at Cornell University. Clients he has worked with include Kraft Foods, Ruby Tuesdays, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Goldman Sachs and Hyatt Hotels.
Jeff earned his a B.S. in Business Administration from Cornell University and his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. He has taught courses at Cornell University and Trident Technical College. He is a member of The American Society of Training and Development and The National Speakers Association.
